After coming off from a wonderful high by a Doctor Who episode, I read some of the synopsis of upcoming episodes of Scooby Doo: Mystery Incorporated on Wikipedia and I found my depressed when I read this...
In episode 22, "Attack of the Headless Horror"
"Meanwhile, Shaggy and Velma try to rekindle their relationship, but Velma no longer has the same feelings for Shaggy that she once had."
Two episodes later in episode 24,
"Fred and Daphne then go to the Clam Cabin and Fred explains how Daphne is the only one who really understands him. He then asks her to marry him after their graduation from high school. Daphne says yes, and they share their first kiss."
Either it's just me or Cartoon Network is very pro-Franphe and anti-Shelma? Answer me everyone!
I mean why put those two teenagers together only to be shot down? Why? For drama? This is like a "Take that" for all the fans who wrote Shelma fics including me? To prove that Fred and Daphne are like eternal soul-mates and Shaggy and Velma are doomed to wander around the planet alone?
Or maybe I'm going to hard that show, maybe the show represents how rocky relationships can be. (Think about Freddy and Daphne) Nah!

The versions of Shaggy and Velma that we saw in Mystery Incorporated are so wildly different from the way those characters have been portrayed in every other Scooby canon that their failed romance in MI only STRENGTHENED my shippy feelings for the classic versions of the characters.
Honestly, I don't think the way the romances in MI turned out is a "Take That!" at the S/V shippers. I think it's just an example of what happens when writers who have NO IDEA how to write romance and/or drama attempt to write romance and/or drama. For the life of me, I cannot fathom why WB hired writers who specialize in goofy comedies to spearhead a show where romance was meant to be a major plot point.
