You know, I've been wondering about the Shaggy/Velma relationship in Mystery Incorporated ever since they announced the new episode a couple days ago. What was the point of putting them together if their ultimate objective was simply to break them apart? Its one thing to create drama and tension for a romantic relationship on TV to "break up the monotony" of a steady relationship, but it another to "demonize" the female character (Velma) by turning her into a control freak who doesn't seem appreciate the person she's with for who he is (thanks to some bad advice from Daphene for the most part) and appears to despise the close knit relationship between a man his dog (Shaggy and Scooby).

And the worst thing of it, Shaggy is such a push over about everything until she throws down the ultimatum of "The Dog or Me". I never got why they used the Shaggy/Scooby friendship for the basis of some weird ass love-triangle between the three, let alone why they'd make Scooby against the idea of Shaggy and Velma dating (or maybe I'm looking at that particular angle from the real world perspective, as I'm sure your pet really doesn't give a damn about who you date, so long as you continue to love and care for it. Maybe that's the angle they were aiming for, but it didn't come off that way for me), it gave me pause on more than one occasion.

I hardly ever post to communities so I hope I'm doing this right. I also hope it's okay to post a story that isn't related to a prompt.

Spoilers/Warnings: Scooby-Doo Mystery Inc. - I’ve never written any sort of Scooby fiction, my area of expertise is sentai/PR fic so I apologize if I didn’t get the characters correct.

I recently saw the trailer for an indie movie called Violet Tendencies starring Mindy Cohn and I knew I just HAD to make this! Hope you guys have as much fun watching it as I did making it (even if the editing isn't all that great).
Fair warning, the dialogue gets pretty racy. Don't say I didn't  warn you.

Hey guys!
I need some help. This is going to seem so strange but I want to make a graphic for a prompt challenge. The prompt is emoticon, and I was hoping to have an image of Velma on a cell phone with the screen up.

Does anyone know if one exists?

I wanted to figure out a plausible way that Mystery Incorporated's Shaggy and Velma could have gotten together (that didn't involve Velma committing a sex crime) and this is what I came up with. It's way more melodramatic than the stuff I usually do, but I hope you like it anyway:

WARNING: There's a little bit of crude language in the comic. Just thought I'd let you know.

As of the last episode of Mystery Incorporated, I'm really really torn between the shipper in me wanting them to get back together (mainly because we may never get a canon romance with them again) and the logical thinker in me that says, "These versions of the characters are absolutely TOXIC as a couple and should just stay friends. After all, Shaggy seems relieved to be rid of her and not at all bummed out or conflicted about the break up".

Anyway, I've been trying to see if I could reconcile those two sides and figure out how Mystery Incorporated's Shaggy and Velma could possibly get back together without it feeling like an unbelievable plot contrivance. Here's what I came up with:
