WELCOME TO THE COMMUNITY

Welcome to [community profile] dinkley_rogers, a community dedicated to the romantic pairing of Shaggy Rogers and Velma Dinkley of the undying series/franchise, Scooby Doo (Where Are you?) and various spin-offs and movies. Here you can post an aray of fanart, fanfiction, or discussion pretaining either to the couple, their actors or the series, so long as its a production of your imagination own and not someone elses work. Again, if you're a fan of this couple feel free to join and/or contribute whatever material you have in relations to either characters or Scooby Doo in general.

Comic Scans: Archie #2 (circa 1995)

In this issue the boys join the military and a yeti disrupts a peaceful ski trip

As always, I don't mind if people use these scans to make icons or whatever (I can't claim "ownership" of a book with characters that clearly aren't mine just because I scanned it). But credit and/or a link would be much appreciated if you do opt to use them or show them off elsewhere. Thanks!

Fan-comic: "hot legs"

How is it that Velma can wear something as impractical as this....

....in the winter time and not freeze to death? In this comic, Shaggy finds out!

Their first "I love you"

This is how I imagine Shaggy and Velma's first "I love you" will be exchanged....

(no subject)

This year for Halloween I cosplayed as my spirit animal, Mystery Inc's very own Velma Dinkley. While I didn't get a lot of pictures or the chance to be dressed up for very long, I did manage to find an excellent opportunity for a crossover that was too good to pass up.

Needless to say, I am going to be writing a fanfic of this very, very soon.

Happy belated Halloween!

Comic Scans (1995): Archie #1

The Archie comics run marked the last time Scrappy was a regular character in a Scooby Doo series. Thankfully, unlike the TV shows he was a part of, his inclusion doesn't exclude Fred and/or Velma. So he's actually tolerable as a member of the gang.

This series also wasn't afraid to be loose and wacky when it came to the art. While it's not always pretty (or on model), it's at least interesting to look at.

In the premiere issue we find out that Daphne is an elitist when it comes to amusement parks. And then Fred and Shaggy go to prison!

Review: Scooby Doo Haunted Holidays

Believe it or not, this special has one major thing in common with an anime called Slayers Premium. Both movies are saved by an actor named Crispin Freeman. No, really! Follow Evil Frosty and find out how!!

The Haunted Holidays special is a new mini-movie that's included on a compulation DVD called "13 Spooky Tales: Holiday Thrills and Chills". In addition to the new special, it has about a dozen random Scooby episodes from various incarnations that share a Winter Time theme (but I'm only gonna touch on the new one).

Yet another 'Scooby Doo: Where's My Mummy' prequel....

Yeah. I think I love the potential stories behind that movie more than I like the movie itself. ^_^

For those who don't know, Scooby Doo: Where's My Mummy starts with the revelation that Velma left the gang for 6 months to work on an archeological dig in Egypt. And the gang surprised her by flying to her work site mainly because Scooby wouldn't stop crying until they agreed to visit her. That plot point was so adorable that I had HAD to do prequel comics about it!!

Just to refresh your memories, here's the last prequel comic:

1970s comic scans: Marvel #7

In this issue, the gang tangles with a transportation pod, a not-so-scary scarecrow, and  then they learn how to use an animation camera.

Fanart: Dorky Dancing

This picture is trying to mimic the gang's silly dance moves in the original Scooby Doo: Where Are You cartoon. Here's a handy gif to refresh your memory:

1970s comic scans: Marvel #5

In this issue the gang fixes a haunted apartment building, they solve they mystery behind lemonade, and Dynomutt learns the hard way that fanboys can be jerks. And then Yogi Bear gives us a lesson on the animation process.
