1970s scans: Scooby Doo Charlton #8

In this issue, Scooby acts like a jerky diva (and then gets a taste of his own medicine) and the gang gets in trouble when they mess around with a time machine.
And we get some completely inappropriate ads that have no place in a children's book!

[insert joke about what Shaggy&Velma were doing in the backseat of the van here]

STORY TIME!

AD TIME!!!!
The first few are tame/boring enough.....

Ugh. That "love spreads germs, KISS ME QUICK" ad is disgusting and that "sex maniac" tag features the worst pick up line EVER!!! >_<

Showing off charts and walls of text. That's a surefire way to get kids interested in your product!!!!

I'm pretty sure at least half of the stuff in the next ad is illegal....

And these two "cigarette prank" ads would NEVER fly in a kids' book today. Which is a shame because they could be a clever way to give someone the incentive to quit.

There are far too many ads featuring half-naked strongmen in this book.

SURVEY TIME!!!

As always, I don't mind if people use these scans to make icons or whatever (I can't claim "ownership" of a book with characters that clearly aren't mine just because I scanned it). But credit would be much appreciated if you do opt to use them or show them off elsewhere. Thanks!
